20 Fun Holiday Traditions to Start This Year

Christmas tree decorating for holiday traditions

The holidays are an incredible time of year, perfect for creating traditions the entire family can enjoy. Decorations sprout throughout the neighborhood, lighting the way for Santa. Music has a more whimsical sound, and people are in a far more giving mood.

I love the holidays, but they can be a difficult time for many families. Budgets are stretched thin due to travel expenses, gifts, parties, and feasts. Holidays can even be emotionally taxing and exhausting, especially if loved ones have passed.

Not to mention the chaos that often ensues as the year winds down. Lengthy breaks from school can lead to very long days as your children attempt to entertain themselves or vie for your attention.

So, let’s bring some budget-friendly cheer to your holiday season! There are a few traditions I truly cherish from my childhood that I’ve attempted to pass on to my kids. This list includes many of them, plus a few more for your family to enjoy!
